Low Tire Pressure light coming on

I have a 2008 6.4L CC LWB SRW with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. I recently installed a front end levelling kit and 35x12.50x20 Toyo Open Country MT's on factory 20" wheels.

When I picked up my truck from the shop that installed the lift and tires I immediately noticed that the "Low Tire Pressure" warning was coming from the dash.

I have read up on the forums as much as possible and haven't had any luck, most said that the dealer can adjust it. I also called my dealer who said they couldn't adjust it and that maybe the shop that installed the tires messed up the sensors. Finally, I went through the owner's manual and completed the reset procedure using the key FOB. All to no avail, the light is still on.

Can anyone help me out?

I think what might be happening is the stock wheel/tire set up requires around 65-70psi (I could be wrong on the exact number) so they set the computer/tire pressure sensors to stay with in a certain range of the psi. Now that you have different tires running a lower psi it senses it is out of the range and is thinking your stock wheel/tires are running lower psi than they should be. I know the trucks come with a clicker looking device that you can reset each sensor with using a step by step process explained in the owners manual.

I did the reset using the clicker exactly like it said in the owner's manual, twice actually, and it didn't do anything. The clicker is designed to reset the system when you rotate the tires while running say 60lbs in the front and 80 in the back... it didn't help 'learn' the truck that all tires are at 50lbs psi.

I think my dads did the same when he dropped his pressure to 55, would not relearn it, has it up around 70 now i think and its all good

I don't think I can run the pressure up to 70 because it will cause the center tread to wear too fast... These are very popular tires for the 08 Superduties so I'm hoping someone with first hand knowledge will chime in.

Sorry about you possibly being misinformed but you have to run 65 psi front and 80 psi rear if you had 17" or 18" wheels from the factory. I believe you have to run 65 psi front and rear if you had 20" wheels from the factory. If you want your tire pressure light to go off you have to run whatever your tire sticker in the door jam says. If the tires are about 5 psi or more low then that triggers the light on. The Ford Dealership cannot change the psi this comes on. I know, I work at the dealership I bought my truck at. I just deal with the light coming on with my 2008 instead of wearing out my 35" BFG Mudders.
