blow or dont blow

hey guys figured id come to the guys who know their stuff on blowers, the truck in my sig is my DD. its got about 95,000 miles on it not necessarily the easiest miles either. so my question is what are the cons to adding a super with this many miles? i know the pros but is there anything specific i should know? Fortunetly my uncle works for vortech so i can get a kit for like... a grand so i might just do this

Possible negatives:
-could blow a spark plug
-tranny may not hold if a 4R70W

I have 165k on my truck though and I'm going to he installing a NOVI 2000. On your truck, I'd go with a Lightning SC swap since it has larger tires and stuff. I had one and sold it due to my Mustang project going overboard! Thats personally the best way to go.

Like I mentioned above, if you have the 4R70W like me you may want to do what you can to make it last. The BEST mod to date that I have done was the Factory Tech seperator plate kit for the 4R70W. I have nice firm shifts now and gained MPG too from what I can tell. It shifts the way it should from the factory.

If you can get a Vortech though for $1000, it would be hard to pass up for sure. I have a Vortech that I just had upgraded to an Si-Trim for my 93 LX and they are awesome SC's, built well.

I'm sure some other people will respond as well...

I'm running a vortech S-trim at 6psi boost on my truck with 175K miles on the bottom end with no issues. Blower was on from 20K till 45K, then came off. I put it back on around 167K miles. I have run Valv durablend oil since day 1 in 94 so that may be a factor in my good luck.

Regards,

what am i lookin at mpg wise from the blower? ive heard people say you get better, ive heard people say you get worse. If you can manage to keep your foot out of the go pedal will your MPG improve by one or so mpgs? because with the my truck is set up...i could use all the mpgs i could get!
