Cold starting issue on 2006 F-150 5.4 Triton
I have a 2006 Ford F-150 King Ranch which I purchased brand new.
During the cold winter months 4 degrees and below zero the truck whines or whistles after the engine is started.
5.4 liter Triton engine automatic transmission, 4 wheel drive, Auto Climate Control, Power adjustable pedals, sun roof. No aftermarket performance modifications or any electrical modifications. The truck is completely stock, OEM Ford.
The tachometer needle is stuck on 0 RPMs the radio turns on loudly to an AM station, the clock on the radio resets to 12:00 PM and the Info Center resets to the factory default screen.
Please help, my Ford dealership / stealership will not address the issue simply stating that they can never reproduce the issue.
Thank you

for one, i'd be looking for a different dealer to deal with... the whistle sounds like the IAC valve (idle air control), common on 00-03 trucks, didn't know it was a problem with the later ones... the tach, i have no idea, the clock and radio sounds like electrical problems... poor connections, bad ground or something.
if it only happens when its cold, you will have to leave the truck at the dealership overnight on a cold night, outside, then go to the dealership, start the truck with a tech watching...if you haven't already done this...
