First i would like to say hello to all,New member here, I just bought a 04 f150 2 wheel drive supercab 48k 4.6 I have had it for about a month. I backed it out of the garage and accidently put the truck in 2nd gear to go up an small incline and the truck did not want to move I had the gas pedal half way to the floor and the engine was taching but hardly any movement. As soon as i put in drive it took off. I took the truck back to the dealer and they said it is normal for f150s. So help me, is this normal or am i getting ripped off because the 30 day warranty on drive train expired the day i discovered this. Any advise would be helpful..Thanks
thanks every body for the replys. Drive and low works great, its when i tried to start out in 2nd the engine seemed like it was working really hard and i was going no where fast, but the truck was moving. The engine was tached pretty high.
Starting in 2nd means just that. 2nd gear instead of 1st, supposed to feel like a slug. Good to use in snow or mud, does not apply the torque that a first gear start would.
