Transmission ??

First i would like to say hello to all,New member here, I just bought a 04 f150 2 wheel drive supercab 48k 4.6 I have had it for about a month. I backed it out of the garage and accidently put the truck in 2nd gear to go up an small incline and the truck did not want to move I had the gas pedal half way to the floor and the engine was taching but hardly any movement. As soon as i put in drive it took off. I took the truck back to the dealer and they said it is normal for f150s. So help me, is this normal or am i getting ripped off because the 30 day warranty on drive train expired the day i discovered this. Any advise would be helpful..Thanks

all my F150's have moved fine in 2nd, actually, in my 2wd trucks, i often used 2nd to get moving in snow instead of spinning in first.

Starting in 2nd means just that. 2nd gear instead of 1st, supposed to feel like a slug. Good to use in snow or mud, does not apply the torque that a first gear start would.
