spare tire help

Ok my winch for the spare tire is coming down a little bit. I went to put my key in to take the lock out but it wont work. I tried it before and it worked. That was when I first found out about it being loose. I kept forgetting to tighten it back up till yesterday. Now the lock wont come out wont even turn. Anyone have this problem with theirs. My buddy had a 05 150 stx with the same problem couldnt get the spare tire down when we needed it. He never ended up getting it down. He got the tire fixed and turned it back in to the dealer and got something else. He goes through vehicles like underwear. lol

Thumbs up

Spray some WD-40 where the key goes in.

yep, and once you get the lock working again, cover the key slot with a nice thick grease to prevent moisture from getting in there

Buy a can of that liquid plastic and dip the back of the lock in it after greasing it. Let it dry, and put it back in. Put some graphite in the lock.
