Finally got the 55 gal tank installed into my truck bed. Now just have to pick up the 12v transfer pump with 11' hose and I'm in business. I put the fill tube thru the truck shell, and painted the locking cap to match. Should have about a 1500m range (with factory tank), so can pass up those higher priced gas stations. If I see you stranded along the highway I will stop and fill you up for market price. If you're not driving a Ford, it's $5 a gal.

 

55+35 gallon tank stock in my truck = 90 gallons X 15mpg average = 1350 miles. What's your secret to great gas mileage? Please share. PLEASE!!!???!!!

 

Mine is an '05 5.4 4WD. The only thing I've done is the Mag perf muff, and and AEF CAI. Tires are BFG AT's and upgraded one size from stock. Not sure on rear axle, as I've never looked. Bought truck used with 3500m. Now have 14000 on it, and it usually does 18mpg at 70. Always gets Mobil 1 5W20 and Motorcraft filter.
