So it seems like a dealer in Texas is giving about $20K off diesel SD, and i was wondering if would be able to buy it (new) there and register it in CA? are the 6.4L the same for all 50 states....or is there a different "version" for the more stringent states(CA, NY...)?

if so....Is there a way to check that from the VIN number?...don't really want to really on the dealer to tell yes or no...

^ No there is a 2008 emission compliant sticker on the truck...that's compliant across the USA

 

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think you need to keep it out of Ca. for at least 90 days or they try to nail you with the sales tax.
