ignition module location?
I tried a search, but got confused. I am looking for the ignition module on my 1995 f150 5.0. Is it the box below the power distribution box with the plug in and a lot of wires coming out of it? when I searched, I read where it was on the distributor and took special tools to remove. there is nothing on my distributor. Also, would one like this work ACCEL 35371 - ACCEL Ignition Control Modules - summitracing.com or is this the one that mounts to the distributor. thanks!!

does you distributor use the TFI module? if so look for a thin (1/2 inch) 4 inch long, inch and a half tall thingy with a plug in the 5 oclockish position
that be her and it takes a little tool (that you can replicate using the NAPA bit set kit) to get it off - the only caveat is that the distributor needs out of the engine. oh, and its light gray in color

The 1990/2002 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog Parts sez: 1992/96 F150 5.0 = remote mounted ignition module.
Parts catalog illustration shows it to be mounted to the rear of the left hood hinge on the left fender inner apron.
5U2Z12A297B (replaced E8DZ-12A297-A) .. Ignition Module (Motorcraft DY1075)
MSRP: $156.76 / FTEpartsguy.com price: $84.65

Where I found my ignition module/control unit
I have a 95 F-150 4.9L with intermittent starting issues, always after sitting for at least 8 hours. The starter turns over strong, but it just won't start sometimes, like today. After it starts, it runs great and never stalls. My local Advance Auto parts guy said they can test the Ignition Module if I bring it in.
I found mine attached to the driver side sheet metal, in a heat sink bracket with aluminum cooling fins, just below where the hood hinge attaches to the sheet metal. It's held on by two hex head screws.
