Yes, the Powerstroke badge is Ford's. Not navistar's. There is a 2.8 litre I-4 diesel in Rangers down in S. America... Dont remember who makes it but i was pretty sure it wasnt International, and it a Powerstroke.

Approx 20% improvement in mileage would bring it to about 15.6 MPG city and 20.4 MPG highway over the 5.4.....
That depends on what year 5.4 you use and in what configuration....a 2009 4x4 is rated for 14/18 which would mean the applicable mileage would be 16.8 and 21.6.....
But if you use the new sfe model thats coming out...that would bring you to 18/25.2....

Nice info on the F150 diesel. Sure hate it for the F250 sales. Too bad Ford had to release just pictures of a plastic cover.
Has anyone heard anything about a Ranger diesel reserection? Remember back in the 80's when they made diesel Ranger which got totally awsome fuel mileage (50 MPG). 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine!
I have actually contacted Ford directly as to if they plan on bringing the diesel sedans (reliable 50+ MPG) and Ranger back. They claimed that there was not a market for them. Crazy huh?

one of the diesel mags claims to have an experience with the new 4.4. unfortunately it is in a range rover and it is 3.8.
is that like comparing the ferrari gto to the pontiac? or a baretta to a beretta?
to those of you stating the new engine will not be called powerstroke....then what will it be called? just leave an answer if you know for sure, fer sure, dude.

Maybe the same as what I saw in Scotland, outside of Aberdeen. Not sure why we can't get them here.

Blame the EPA or DOT or more than likely both! Usually the case.
Sorry about going off subject.
