recall 08T01 - all 2008 ford diesels

I guess I'm the lucky one.......
Bought a Used 2008 KR 6.4 CC back in November from a local Baltimore Dealer...
71K on the Beast.
When I purchased, dealer told me 1K/1month on everything...
After about 8 weeks and 3,000 miles, noticed a few small dropplets of coolant coming from the drivers side bottom radiator. Also dual heat not working on drivers side. Took back to dealer.....
Bent over in anticipation of what was coming........
They put in a new radiator, and actuator motor in drivers side of dashboard..... FREE....... and gave me a loaner while they did it...
I am extremely Happy!!!

2008 Ford F250 Super Duty Diesel Radiator Leak
08T01 is a SSI (Special Service Instruction) not a recall and it only applies to certain vehicles built from Job 1 thru 05/15/08.
The SSI covers the installation of a venturi tee in the coolant system to prevent reverse flow of cool air/coolant from the degas bottle to the radiator. This cool air/coolant is what is supposed to be causing radiators to crack and start leaking, not explode...

I have a 2008 F250 SD with 56000 miles and the radiator is leaking from the llower driver side area similar to what is being talked about in the forums. Has there been a recall on these radiators or has anyone been successful in getting them cover by the warranty?

No recall on the radiators. Some people have gone to aftermarket radiators though.

If your doing it yourself, google the R&R for it online. It is actually not that bad just kind of time consuming. Took me about 5 hours but I did the Thermostats and belts at the same time. Definitely get an aftermarket one. I have had two of the stock ones go. First one under warranty at 25,000 and the second one at 76,000.

Most are running a coolant filter. They are a must on the 6.0 and 6.4 engines. There are tons of kits, all are basically the same. I built my own setup for my 6.4 but have a dfuser kit on my 6.0. It came with three filters while the other ones did not. They make one for the 6.4, basically the same kit just more 3/8 hose as the filter has to be mounted on the frame under the passengers seat and for the 6.0 it is mounted next to the pass battery. No such room on the 6.4.

Radiator hoses
We just had to have the upper and lower radiator hoses replaced. Our Ford Mechanic said there was a recall on them back in 2008. Shouldn't that recall have been taken care of prior to purchasing it from the Ford Dealer? We have a 2008 F-250 and we purchased it used from a Ford Dealer in 2009. Is there a way to get reimbursed for the repair? How?
Thank you,
Thank you,
