Are they EGR off? They didn't specify so I assumed it was left on.

I wanted to hear from yall about it before i came to my conclusions. I installed the stock plus file last friday. Throughout all my driving habits, the EGT's runs on average about 100-125 degrees cooler, so i figured it was off.

being that its an 06 if the EGR was turned off then they would fix it so if you unplugged the EGR the CEL wouldn't come on would it? that might be a quick way to see if it is turned off. maybe that is something different you have to request though

All of the tunes have the EGR "off".
Call Spartan to specify you would like EGR "on".

I thought I read that too, that Matt had turned it back on for the General Economy tune. Perhaps Matt could chime in on this? I'd love to know all the details of each tune if he has that info available.

The EGR-"on" tunes were for those of us who had later model (06-07) trucks with the VXCF5H5 flash level.

Ford changed a great deal of fuel and EGR mapping in this flash level, as well as making the tune heavily dependent on having a functional EGR system to run predictably. Matt and Evan had a great deal of difficulty getting predictable results with the EGR turned off, so they left it turned on.

Older flash levels were not effected, and thus did not need the EGR system turned on. Older tunes are supposed to have the EGR turned off.

So I assume it is safe to use the tune for the 6.0 2005my VXCF4xx as in the list of tunes on the site would have the EGR circuit turned off? Since mine is gone a both ends, I need it disabled to prevent a code and CEL. From what I can read when that happens the PCM goes into limp mode.
However when I was driving it with the CEL on - The SCT did not show a code? It ran great. I noted no performance difference.
I just wanted to try one of Matt's tune to see if there is a difference with the tune I have from 5star.
