My friend has a 05 F350 6.0. This is what he explained to me that it is doing. I am at work so I havent seen it myself.

Some times it suffers from real bad turbo lag. Go to pass a car and no turbo for about 10 seconds. I figure vanes sticking there. Next he has had it on the backroads. He stopped held the brake to spool up the turbo, no boost and all of the gauges fall like you killed the truck. Kill the truck and restart, stall builds boost and launches like a bat out of hell spinning tires like a dragster. He done this several times and had the same results. No boost gauges fall restart and build boost.

Truck is stock with no mods or tuner.

Any ideas?

 

He droped it off at the dealer this morning. It will be interesting what they find. He told the tech exactly what it was doing.

Isn't the turbo electronically controlled?

 

May be chafed wires in the harness.
