F-350 lift ideas
Ok, so i did a couple of searches, and it seems everything i pull up about a lift is for a F250... does all the Newer super duty stuff work on F-350s also? Im looking for about 4"s of lift, and the truck rides super nice, so id like to keep it that way if i can. I heard some say that the SD springs ride pretty nice... but what i was thinking maybe was buying and/or building some 2 or 3" shackles and putting a 2" block front and rear. What do ya all think? Any advice? For the most part im just looking to clear 35's when the time comes.

blocks in the front are a complete no-no, they do nothing but create problems. A shackle flip in the rear is a good idea as long as you have 3" wide leafs. Check out sky-manufacturing for those. As for front 250 front leafs wont really hurt your ride and probably wont hinder you that much, I couldnt find any lifts for a 350 either so trial and error is the best way to go if you cant figure out anything else. Do me a favour and DO NOT ADD BLOCKS IN THE FRONT!!!

F250/350 lift kits same thing. The spring perches and springs are the same. My springs for my f250 bolted straight up to my 79 hp dana 60 I have now(same as you). You can do two things ...order the 4" SD springs, or get a easy 4" by making a spring hanger drop with shackles the same as my truck with your original springs. For the rear you could use a 4" block(whick you might already have???) or just do a shackle flip withg your original shackles. It isn't a straight flip and bolt to gain a full 4" though you do have to modify the shackle a little. Look in my gallery for description

No it didn't change anything because I have longer shackles on the other side of the spring. The thing is if you go with the spring hanger drop you have to go with longer shackles to even everything up. If you dont it will actually flatten out the spring on just the front side. I welded a cap on the back side of the tube and put a 4x4x3/8 angle between the frame rails bolted like the original hanger(awesome recovery point for a strap too). Blocks are bolted and welded(overkill but w/e).When I decide to put in a set of 8" Super duty leafs I'm gonna change things around a bit. I might just go with a 2 inch hanger drop instead of 4.

Dang sounds and looks nice. I dunno if its 4" but yea it has a block back there about that hieght. About how much lift would you guys think stock SD springs would get me? I figure with those, and by time you make the hanger deeper, and shackles in the front it will sit level. About 2-3" ?? Im probably asking alot of dumb questions, i prolly just need to look at things and it will probably be self explanitory.

I havn't been able to test my panhard yet due to there being no motor(in machine shop as we speak getting cam bearings pressed in and new cam and valve springs). I'm sure it will eliminate any bump steer though. As far as the SD springs go you will need to open up the spring hanger hole bigger for the larger eye hole and bolt you will need for these springs. My bro on his just used my high quality die grinder bit in a drill and opened it up till it fit. Hairyboxnoogle I dont know if stock SD springs will give you ANY lift I just know the spring kits from pro comp for the Super Duty work and there cheap as hell.

about 140$ a side. Go to the websiteNorthWest Fab - Everything You Need For Your 4x4 NP203 NP205 Dual Adaptor, 1410 Yokes D60 Parts, Rebuilt Transfer Cases and look at the dana 60 x over and high steer kits .

73 ford guy:
DO you have any problems with the drag link hitting the spring when the wheels are turned all the way to the left, and the suspension is fully compressed?
I run an 8" BDS super duty spring, and I had to modify my saginaw box to get the pitman arm as close to the frame as possible so the spring would not run into the drag link, or hit the pitman arm. Image of saginaw box and crossover steering - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I see you have a very large drop pitman arm.
I can also guarantee that with crossover, you will not really encounter any bumpsteer.
I run with no stabilizer and my truck stays straight as an arrow on the highway, regardless of bumps. I have no problem letting go of the steering wheel, and feeling comfortable with it staying in its own lane.
My apologies for the hi-jack, but this is still somewhat related to the SD front spring topic.
Many options and many ways to tackle this upgrade.
