Hello, I have a 1988 F250 4x4 HD,SC,LB, 351w, I'm hearing a ticking sound coming from the left side of my engine, I thought it was an exhaust leak but can seem to feel any around the exhaust manifold or donut, after reading several posting about common lifer noise I'm wondering if that's what I'm hearing?? The speedometer cable was broken when I bought the truck so I have no idea what the mileage is,, it was a Long Island plow truck so along with copious amounts of rust I'm sure the mileage is well over 1k of not 2k,, I'm going to be replacing my value cover gaskets soon, is there anything I can look for or check while doing this to find out if it's lifter noise or some other internal engine problem??? I have an after market engine oil pressure gauge installed and at cold idle it reads around 50-60 psi,, warm idle it looks to be at or very near to zero.. The gauge was on the truck when I bought it so don't know how old it is or the quality of the gauge,, Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
