Other OEM Ford radio/cd players in my '00 SD

Does anybody know what other Ford radios will be an easy install in my '00 F250? I have the am/fm/CD/cassette one and I'd like one with the 6 cd/mp3 changer. I see lots of OEM Ford stuff on ebay and it seems to go cheap.

I put a Cd player from a 2002 Ranger into a 2000 Expedition. I think as long as it's the old style with the four holes for the removal tools then it should fit and plug right in. I dunno about a 6 disc fitting, but the one I swapped out was a single cd/mp3 player.

6 disc is a waste of time and you will be very disappointed. I did the swap to a 6 disc, poor sound quality, very tinny sound, not alot of volume before distortion, only good feature was rds. First cd you put in with a paper label on it, and it jams up instantly, and then the unit is junk. Swapped it out for a late model oem am fm single cd and sound quality and volume was literally night and day. Had conversations with others and we all agreed on the same thing.

My '06 Focus has the 6 cd/mp3 player and I haven't had any issues with it. The sound quality of an mp3 will not be a good as a cd in any machine.

I took the 6 disc from my '04 F350 and put it in my '06 E150. They are all very interchangeable.

The 6CD unit will certainly fit in your truck.

I sold my '08 250 single CD for like $90 on ebay. I was thrilled.

Unless you're driving over minneapolis potholes. Then the MP3 will sound better... a lot better if that MP3 is coming from a flash memory based device like an MP3 player or usb flash drive in an aftermarket deck

I just wanted to get a rip in on minneapolis potholes, really...

Thanks Beerstalker... yep, I just did this swap... got one from a 2006 Escape and it fit like a glove. I've got no complaints with the unit or sound quality but I suppose I am beyond the days of cranking it up. I'm the only one that hears my music these days Also, the owner's manual warns you about putting in CD's with labels.. definite no-no on these units.
