Any Ideas out there, Pretty Much fracked
|
OK, Here we go, the first symptom where that it would surge when I started it. The next time I drove it, it didn't have very much power. Later it wouldn't go above 50 mph, with the peddle floored it just creeped up in speed. Finally I was at work and at the end of the day I started it, it did the surge thing, but I could drive it upto about 20 MPH with not problems. I headed home and 3 miles down the road, I pulled over because it was running really bad, as soon as I stopped it died. After about 3 hours it started but ran really rough, and there was no response from pressing on the accellorator at all, As soon as I put it in drive it died and wouldn't start again.
After changing the fuel filters with no effect, I started looking around the engine, I removed the Air Filter and Coolant makeup tank. I stated unbolting the FICM thinking the ICP sensor might be bad again. I found the Center Connector on the FICM unplugged, it looks like the mechanic that worked on it last( replaced the EGR Cooler and ICP Sensor and Connector) the FICM connector was broken and then tie wrapped (zip tied) in place. The Tire wrap was around the FICM and when it was bolted back into place again this tie wrap was pinched between the FICM and the engine.
By the way thoughout this entire ordeal so far the check engine light has NOT been on except during the initial start sequence.
So here is my question(s)
I know that that center plug is injector control for cylinders 2,3,5,and 8. If this plug came partly out would it cause the inital symptoms, and if it came out fully would that fry the FICM or worse yet the ECM. because after pluging that connector back in nothing changed.
