Fuel oil doesn't go "bad". However it does get contaiminated. I have burt fuel from old ukes that sat for 20 years. I filtered it through a 15micron, then 2 7~10micron filters. I also don't suck out the bottom. When I was in the army we had paste we used to dip the tanks and see where the fuel level, and water in bottom were. Usinig the water paste is a good determination on how far down to put siphon hose.
