57-60:AOD w/300 c.i.-Will it Fit?

I posted this in the Inline 6 Forum as well.
First, does a 300 bolt up directly to an AOD transmission?Which years were carbureated, and which were fuel injected.Lastly,I remember Col. Flashman had a preference for a particular year, for which reason I can't remember.Anyone remember the years/reasons?How about you,Col.?Could you provide me a copy of the article you used to spec your build?I am considering doing this swap in my '59 F250.Thanks,Steve

Howdy,

Yes.

In fact, I have an E4OD that is going into my 55 F-600. It will also bolt to a 300. (my torque converter is a "300" model)

Pics in my gallery. (I'm not going to use a 300 but if I had decided to not use a Y-block, I would have used a 300. If I was going to do an F250, I would use an E4OD there too.(much stronger transmission)

Cheers,

Rick
