Hmmnn..low oil pressure..got any knocks from the lower end? Have any lifters rattling (assuming hydraulic) at idle?

If not, then might be best to try a good mechanical gauge to verify real pressure.

My wife is hinting that's about time to get a new truck. I haven't found one that I want to spend the money to buy. Now I know why, when one's painted up as well as yours Earl, these older trucks are way cooler. Not every kid who's parents can afford to make payments is gonna have one.

Earl the truck looks great.

Thank you

Thank You Bart If you guys can wait untill 2010 ford is bring back the F-100 then. I'm going to try to pick one up then but i love older trucks they got lines that are just great. they say truck in every way although i won't be helping anyone move with this one. i've seen alot of this body style either left to sad state affairs neglected and beat. or i've seen them with some love applied but lifted which is cool to. i just thought i would try this route and make a street truck out of one. i've rarely seen it done. infact i think my truck is the 3rd 78-79 f-100 that i've seen done this way so it's pretty cool cause it's unique and it's mine. one of the other ones is in Santa Cruz. belongs to a older gent. and was in a magazine it was a step side and yellow. the other one was done up the big rim way ya know 24" wheels i'm not into that. in my opinion the rims don't fit the era of the truck. but to each his own if it works for him so be it. it's one less EFFIE in the scrap yard headed for the crusher right.

Earl, you did good.....I stopped by a body shop today to get a rough estimate on a job...well, they don't do collision work just restoration work...

The guy says it'll run anywhere's from 3500 on up to 12K...depending, depending, depending....shees man, that's some heavy bones to spend on a truck that cost $3K...but well, if it's done right....I might increase the value of the truck by $50.00...

Looking forward to the next cruise in .......did I hear anyone say....Lodi, what about Rio Vista...? Just tossing ideas in the ring...semi-central locations...

TH1567
She said she was sick and tired of my fiero viejo...it's not old metal it's a Ford and that's that.

Thanks guys well now I'm pulling the motor out to put in new bearings in the bottom end rod and mains I'll do the cam bearings in a month or 2 when i do the cam swap. if it's not one thing its another you all know how it goes such is life lol. thanks mike for the info and tips. found i do have lifters rattling after i sit at a light to long. then they pump back up after i take off my oil pressure is low 0 to 5lbs at a stop and around 12 to 15 while driving so this should fix it till the cam swap.then i'll get those ones changed out too boy i got some work to do cause this is my daily driver too.
