Just curious is all really, I see a lot of people with problems with the newer models. One guy mentioned he gets better gas mileage with his 94 than with his 02. Both are F350 4x4 Crew cab with 7.3L.

Mine is the very early 99. They have a different heat treated rod, a little stronger supposedly. Atleast thats the rumor. Trying to hunt down one in a crew cab short bed 4x4 dually 6 spd with 3.73 leather 4 bucket seats. Not that I am picky or anything...

I like my '95. I looked at getting a newer truck with the 6.0 and decided against it. A buddy of mine has an '04 with the 6.0 and says it won't pull as well as the 7.3. So that pretty much tells me the 7.3 is it. I think the earlier models are great.

It's all personal opinion. I like the OBS trucks better.

I love the OBS trucks and wanted an OBS PSD badly but luck was not in the cards for me. I found my early bird 99 for a good price (well at least it was at the time) and needed a truck so I went for it. I've seriously considered trading for an OBS F350 though and almost have twice now. I think the SD has more room inside than the OBS, but other than that there is really nothing better about an SD compared to an OBS in my mind. Oh, except that a stock F250 SD 4x4 has a solid axle and not TTB.

i drove an 03 superduty 7.3 with 3.73 gears cc sb at pulling a loaded trailer from Bismarck nd to salt lake city ut and back. it was decked out with leather seats and all the trimmings. first off is although the seats looked nice, they were rock hard and as uncomfortable as hell compared to my obs. second off it felt like my obs pulled marginally better, of course that is probably just the difference between 3.73 and 4.10's plus i have a tuner. also mine is a stick compared to an auto. it was a great looking truck, the mirrors were really nice for towing a trailer. the motor sounded to much like an gasser all in all i wasn't that impressed. but i still wouldn't pass up a good deal on one.

88bronco- I too seem to think that most OBS's have a bit more spunk than the SD's, maybe because of the larger non WG turbo? Not enough to lose sleep over, but a definite difference. Could be the single shot injectors too.

I agree with that 120% The wife's EX seats are definately not made for my butt. I can sit in my truck for hours but just a few in hers and it hurts to stand up. Then again I am getting old.

I find the seats in my SD slightly more comfy than my old 95 actually. Both trucks had 40/20/40 split bench- the 95 had 144K on it when I sold it and the SD now has 168K. I find the SD seat holds me up a little better, in my 95 I kind of sank into it more.

That may be the difference. I feel like the SD seat doesn't wrap around me, I feel like I am sitting on a piece of plywood. The OBS seat kind of conforms to me. Then again I bought the OBS new and my butt is pretty much the only one that has used it so it may be broke in to my particular shape. LOL
