afternoon all...so i went into work this morning and went to punch in...my time card wasnt there, i thought maybe the book keeper for got to put it out as i was out for the first few days because of the injuries i sustained on my dirt bike crash. so i go in to see about my card and my boss says, "oh...uh well we arent in need of your services any longer, i hired a new lube guy (i work in an, well worked, auto shop) and hes gunna take over your position". Now i was not very high up on the totem pole of hiarchy at the shop im a lowly shop assistant cleaning up everything and doing oil changes, but still...kinda sucks right? he could have called me and told me instead of having me come in...i worked there for 4 years! and get dumped like that...maybe i shouldnt have asked for a raise and more hours...

 

Well, you win the award for worst day here in the SoCal chapter. Worse than Griff's rude dog day. Really sorry to hear that.

Did they pay you all hours and vacation time on the spot? If not, they violated the labor code. Did they pay you for 2-hours show up time? If not, they violated the labor code. Were you out for 3 days of work in a row and didn't call out each day? Did you have any written warnings?
