Starter Solenoid Hook-up

I'm in the process of replacing the starter solenoid on my 79 f-150 with a 300 inline six.... being the unexperienced want to be mechanic I am i didnt mark the wires before removing the old solenoid... can anyone help me with which wire goes to which post on either side of the solenoid. I have one wire from my positive terminal... one that leads to the starter and one that look like it comes out of the harness for the ignition.. thanks for any help.....

The positive battery cable goes to one of the large posts on the side. The starter cable goes to the other large post on the opposite side. For these two large posts, it doesn't matter which cable goes to which post because all the solenoid does is short the two together when the solenoid makes. But the solenoid will probably be easier to mount in one direction rather than the other, if that makes sense.

For the two small wires, the red wire goes to 'S' and the white wire goes to 'I' (if you have it). The solenoid grounds through its mounting bolts.
