Will Headers On A V10 Improve Mpg Under Normal Driving Conditions? I Have Heard They Improve Power While Towing, Looking For Every Mpg I Can Get. Already Have K&n Fipk, Y Pipe And Gibson Exhaust. Currently Get About 15 To 15.4 Mpg At 70mph.

I have an Excursion 4x2 and get 17.1 mpg on hwy. at 60-65 mph w/air on V-10 3.73 gears [all stock] only 11,350 miles on it . Using ford's 5w-20 oil . All the threads i have seen not much if any improvments at all or they go the other way w/mileage less mpg !!! It seems ford did a good job on these Beast to get mpg for the weight thay are. And i can tow my 8600 lb. airstream like it is not there at 11.0-12.5 mpg. My suburban never could do it mileage wise 10.5 towing or not !!! Fords are the only way to go & much more room the the other one was.

I get that (15) without any changes except swapping the stock air cleaner for a KN in the stock housing. 2000 limited V10 4WD.
