Well that is what happens when you are 19 and drive stupid. I ran a stop sign at a state route and in my blind spot on the passenger side pillar was a Chevy Blazer I did not see. He hit me in the passenger rear section of the bed and flipped me over on top of a car that had been waiting across the intersection at the stop sign. I then bounced off the car and rolled it on it's side in the ditch. It was all my fault and cost me quite a bit of money. Luckily no one was hurt in the accident. Those 36" Cepeks were less than 2 months old.

Like Numberdummy has said and members from the North West where they gravel the roads instead of salt 73-79 trks "are a dime a dozen" even with today's steel prices.
Their everywhere. So until those surviving numbers come down a lot. Values wont go up. Coarse up here in NE I see a different trk every few months.
Considering that the price of a gallon of regular gas is fast approaching 5 bucks a gallon, I doubt you'll see values rising on any old truck (unless it's minty), regardless of the year.

Escalating gas prices are gonna hurt the old car hobby across the board, for car and truck nuts alike.

Out here, the sales of new trucks have hit rock bottom, for used trucks, it's worse.

The latest SoCal dealer auction reports show that 2006 gasser 1/2 to 1 ton trucks, regardless of the make are currently selling for between 8-12 thousand bucks, off nearly 40% in two years.

I loved the way those big, wide 36" tires looked on my 1/2 ton so when I got my 250 I had to go with the same tire. In all reality tho they ride terrible. It is just to much tire to run down the road and they don't wear good at all. Now after giving the Fun Country II's a try on my old Bronco and the way they had shown no wear I feal they are a great tire, thus the reason for using those on my black and silver Bronco. I will eventually put a set of FCII's in a 37" diameter on my 250 and get rid of those 16.5" wide FC's that are on there now.

He did almost miss me. To this day I still think if I had a shortbed he would not of got me. He hit the furthest rear section on the passenger side bed, about 2'. The diference between a shortbox and longbox. My rear pipe bumper went thru the roof of the car waiting on the other side. I felt pretty bad to as it was an older couple, 60's or so, that I had landed on then bounced off.

The cops asked me what the problem was and I gave them the "brakes failed" excuse instead of admitting my wrong. I still to this day am pretty pissed off about what I did as I think I would still own that truck if it had not of happened. That thing was my baby.

In this picture you can see the Delta 88 that I hit. Unfortunately there were no pictures taken of the front. This were taken at the tow lot the next day.

This pic here you can see the cream color on the side of the bed. That is from the vinyl top of the 88.

Yeah now I could of but not when I was 19. I had no place to work on it and I was pretty illiterate when it came to dealing with insurance companies about totaled vehicles.

Thank goodness you are talking with us on FTE you could be 6 foot under. Ill say it though. Your current 250 in your signature is one the nicest 79s Ive seen around. I wish I was closer. I would come an look at it. Trucks like that will never go down to much in value. The tires, stance off the truck. Its definitly a show truck. Id love to that kind off truck to a cruise night. Wouldnt that be neat.
