Can anyone help me with a problem that I am having with my old "Betsey" my 1986 ford f150 302 5.0 truck?
My old motor died and I had my mechanic put another engine in the truck and it starts and runs really good.except when I let up on the gas to slow down and it starts bucking like a horse and sometimes it cuts off on me completely.
My mechanic replaced the computer and tsp control as well as plugs and wires ,plus a new alternater and all new belts, etc(if this keeps up I will be sleeping in old Betsey!!!
I was driving the truck yesterday with a half of tank of gas and while I was driving the gas gauge started to go to empty and then slowly came back up to a half tank.
All of the other gauges are on normal and like i said it runs really good at 55 or 60 mph.
Thanks for your help,
daisymae

You need to post your question in the 1980 to 1986 forum. I think you need to give more detailed info for someone to figure out your problem. It sounds like your fuel regulator could be bad but I'm just guessing.
