Help removing heater/AC controls 1973 Ranchero/Torino

Hello - I recently bought a 1973 Ranchero and it has an obvious vacuum leak by the heat/AC controls and they do not work properly. I need to access them for service but how do I get to them? Can the controls be released from the dash and pulled down for service, or do they pull out through the front of the dash? Any tips on doing this? I suspect it would be the same on 72-76 Torino, 72-79 Ranchero, 77-79 LTD II and possibly Thunderbirds and other Ford products of the same vintage. Thanks!

Tom
