Trouble starting 08 F350

I'm having a problem starting my 08 V10 F350. There is also a check engine light that just came on. This all happened suddenly. When I touch the key on, the starter does its thing for a cycle and the truck doesn't start, then when I hit it the second time it will start but run rough until it's warmed up. After it's warm it runs fine and starts fine. I've got an appointment at the shop for Tuesday to have it checked but thought maybe you guys might know what the problem might be. The truck has about 10,200 miles on it.

Keep us posted on the situation.

If you don't mind me asking how have the Toyo MT's been treating you. I'm seriously considering getting a set and I know you added them right away to your truck. You stayed with the stock size correct?

I really like these tires so far. I have about 10,200 miles on them and there is no noticeable wear at all at this time. I have studded them twice and pulled the studs manually twice now myself, not a big deal but if I decide to run studs this next winter I will buy a new set of Toyo's and rims and just start rotating every year. I may travel South this year for the Winter with my camper, so if I do that I won't restud them. Yes they are the same size as the original Continental tire. Here is a recent picture of the rig while razor clam digging here in Alaska this Summer....

John,

Thanks for the feedback. I really like the looks of them in your picture and I'm glad they're wearing good. My plan is before the snow flies here in Rhode Island to get a set. I see you have a Honda eu2000 generator. I have one that I use on my boat and it's the best little genny going. I must say you have a nice setup for camping. If your ever in my area with you camping rig and you like fishing check the Cape Cod National Seashore. With a special permit they allow self contained campers out onto the beach and the surf casting is very good.

How do you prepare the razor clams? Here in RI we steam our "steamers" which are a soft shelled clam similar to your "razor" only they're about 1/4 the size with white shells. After they're steamed we dunk them in melted butter and enjoy. If the steamer was cleaned right there's no grit and they have a sweet taste.
