another MAF question

99 F150 4.2 when I seperate the air filter housing the black plate does that just pull off if I stick a pick behind it?Then the MAF sensor is behind it?I must disconect the neg. battery cable. Then unplug the sensor, clean it don't touch the hot wire, with MAF cleaner from autozone.I will remove it before cleaning it.Put it back together.Put the neg. battery cable back on.Drive it to see if it cleared the code lean condition bank 1 and 2?Is that the way you clean a MAF sensor?

This has a diagram of how to take the MAF sensor out of the filter housing: http://www.airaid.com/InstallationPDF/400-109.pdf

You don't really need to do that, I would just disconnect the battery and the intake to the engine and spray the MAF and let it dry off. Just becarefull and don't touch the MAF wire as you said.
