2002 Ranger manual tranny for 2002 Escape?

Someone is assuring me that the 2002 Ranger MANUAL tranny will fit into 2002 Escape XLT. I tried calling Ford but found little help from people on the phone.
Your feedback will be appreciated.

A Ford Ranger is a rear wheel drive vehicle. The transmission is mounted behind the engine, basically under the drives seat. A Ford Escape is basically a front wheel drive vehicle with an all wheel drive option. The Escape transmission is mounted beside the engine, under the hood. The transmissions will not interchange.

At least a five-gallon bucket full of $1000 bills.
Mr. Robertson; I applaud your restraint and strictly factual answer to a question that seems incomprehensible to anyone with any vehicle experience/knowledge at all.
