"02 Brake lights

Help,
I just had my truck inspected and it passed, but right down the road from the dealership, a nice lady came up and told me I had no brake lights. Except the third light on the cab. I've checked the fuses and the connection and the bulbs, everything looks good! Any help out there?!!

Thanks
Gordeaux

Did you check both fuse blocks? This is more of a bump than any help.

The turn signal switch could have issues, since them ain brake lights are also the turn signals. The 3rd light comes straight off the brake switch. Try playing with the hazard switch, as they can get sticky contacts inside the tss, sometimes that will free it up. You may be able to remove the switch and clean inside if you are handy, but I don't think they are that expensive.

I finally broke down and brought it to the dealer. I had to have the blinker arm and relay replaced. It had shorted out/broke. I would have never found it myself. Around $300 to repair, but what are ya gonna do?!

Thanks anyway guys

Actually that is a fairly common problem and we would have diagnosed it eventually. You probably could have fixed it yourself for under $100.

Glad you got it fixed though.
