Today I filled up both of my PSD's at Redi-Fuel on Enterprise Dr. here in Lexington, KY for $3.599. Yes, that's THREE fifty-nine-nine for USLD on-road diesel.
I'm wondering if someone programmed the pumps wrong? Our local Speedway is at $4.599.

I saw last month on the news in Phoenix they made a mistake on a self-service pump....it was like $2.99, it was in a ghetto neighborhood, they were LINED UP with the low riders and such.......huge lines to get gas, turns out.......every single one of them would be charged FULL price on their credit card/debit cards....due to the mistake. You'd think they were giving away free money by the frenzy that was happening!

Remember when you were in school and got caught chewing gum, and the teacher asked if you brought enough for everyone? Did you bring enough of that to share with the rest of us?
I'm sure it was an error and should have been $4.59. Did you happen to mention to the store manager his mistake after you finished filling up? They don't have $1 / gallon profit in there.
Since my memory is failing me, what does it cost to fill up a truck at $3.59 per gallon? I bet that sounds cheap now.

I paid for the fillups with my Discover card. It will be interesting to see if they correct the price when I get my statement!

Redi-Fuel is an automated fueling terminal and there's no attendant on duty. It's where we fill up our charter buses but the terminals will also accept charge cards.
I've emailed them and also left a voice mail but their office isn't open until 8 am tomorrow morning.

They should not be able to charge you more than is on the pump. The moment pump is an agreement to pay what it says. No more no less, they made the mistake not you. Good find, last time I saw one like that I was calling everyone I knew.
If you swiped your card at the pump then you pay whatever price is shown in the window at the time of purchase. They cannot go back and charge you differently.
Furthermore, unless there are significant extenuating circumstances, they cannot "back" charge you a different rate to your card even if you took the card into the store after you filled the tank. If the pump indicates $1.00/gallon then you will only pay $1.00/gallon. Imagine the situation if the indicator at the pump showed $1.00/gallon and they tried to charge you $10.00/gallon at the register in the store.
Finally, if you think you are getting a deal at the pump and want final protection, get a receipt. If the receipt shows $1.00/gallon and then your statement shows a different total dispute it. The receipt is all the proof you need. There can be no further charges or adjustments to cards swiped at the pump or in the store. Whatever the receipt indicates is all you can be charged.

It's against the law for them to charge you more than the price displayed on the pump that day...and you have your reciept..keep it. If you get your credit card bill and you see that its more, take action.
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We must have fat fingered the keyboard when we made the last price change. Do realize that we would like everyone to have $3.599 or lower Diesel fuel, but not when it is being sold for $0.90 below the cost to us."
Oh well, it's back to $4.59!

That was nice of you to inform them of their mistake. Hell $.59 is 10 cents cheaper than I can find it around here and the 2 closest Shell stations on near my house is $4.93 and the one near my office is $4.89. I would be happy at $4.59 right now, as sad as that is.
