Salesguy told me it was the same frame as the F150 and that made it super strong compaired to the chevy's 1500. I have no idea if the guy was right but I have read that the sheet metal skin for the EL is different than the regular Expy. I can't see why Ford would make a frame change for any Expy other than more bracing being needed compaired to the F150.

Like I said it was a salesguy...they usually know enough to be dangerous/make a sale nothing more. I did not bother to do any research on the frame as it was not imporatant to me.

I put as much faith in them as you do. There was a few of us talking at work and they have F150 and Super Dutys. We were just trying to figure out if they were or not. I do not believe they are the same. The front might be very similiar but the back is totally different. But I thought I would ask on here.
Thanks
Tim

The 2007 2008 expedition frame is more like the 2009 f-150. Ford developed this frame as a brand new design for this program, then used the design to encourage the new 2009 f-150. the front section which includes everything under the hood is almost identical between the two programs, considering the differences for 4wd vs 2wd. Everything behind that is different between the el and non el, as well as the many combinations for the different cab and bed sizes for the f-150. Between the two f-150 plants there are about 12 different frames. However they all have the same base design. All of the pre-2009 f-150's have a completely different frame design.
