UWS Blue Lable tool box TBS72SL ?

Hey guys,
I've been searching for a slim tool box that will fit my truck and Down East Offroad: 72" Slim Line Series "Blue Label" is what I came up with. There are no dealers in my area so I don't if it is a quality box. With that said, do any of guys have one? Is it good quality? Will it keep its shape if I secure dirt bikes against it? Is the price reasonable($239.95+$75.00 shipping)?
Thanks
Rick

Never heard of that brand. I have been very happy with my Weatherguard box and do recommend them. They aren't the cheapest though.

I've heard Weatherguard makes a good box. However,I'm looking for a box about 12" wide and I don't think Weatherguard makes one like that.
Thanks

UWS is the truck box of choice where I live. It may be because they are made in Perry, FL which is only 50 miles down the road. I have a 72" low profile on my truck and it is a very good quality box. I don't know how it would hold up to a dirt bike, but I tie all kinds of stuff to mine with no problems.

UWS boxes are ok, I think the lids are on the flimsy side. I wouldn't bet on tie downs not deforming it a bit, but thats going to be most boxes made from aluminum. Be smart about where you drill. And they tend to look really crappy after a few years outside IMO compared to a coated box like a Weatherguard.

I'd look and see if Delta makes what you're looking for, their middle grade lineup is a decent box. Don't buy a Kobalt or whatever Home Depot sells. All the big-store boxes are horrible.

Question: You obviously need a slim box because of the bed length and hauling your bikes. You might want to look into a sidebox, you can get a 6 ft one with a decent amount of room in it and not lose any bed length for your bikes.

I couldn't disagree with that more. These boxes have doule layered lids that has foam injected between the layers for rigidity. They are very solid and are the easiest closing lids that I have seen.

Yeah, I figured I would need to strengthen the tie down with a steel plate or something. Thanks for the advice though. I'm more concerned about the bike tire caving in the box.

The side box is just not something I'm interested in.

I've searched and the only slim boxes that I could find are made by UWS and Kolbolt. I've seen the Kobalt and that is why I'm asking about UWS.

Cabelas sells a slim tool box, made by challenger. Cost about $100 more than the one you were looking at.

I stood on a buddy of mines loading lumber into a rack and it was flexing all over the place. One of his strikers (passenger side) wasn't locking right too. I'll be totally honest that I don't know how he beat it up, for all I know he could have hit the corner on something or slammed it hard onto a case and bent it in a weird place, but I'm a skinny guy and a lid that flexes that much under me I'll say is flimsy. I may be partly biased since I'm used to standing mostly on steel boxes (double the weight gets you something), but I still vote the lid is flimsy.

I have a black UWS box on my 07 (used to be on my 01).

I like it. Stood on it many times when it was on my 01, seemed sturdy to me. My buddy was sitting/kneeling on it when he lettered my 01 as well.....we both weigh over 200lbs.

The top of the Kobalt is 69" across and the lower section is 58"across. It just dosen't fit the truck bed very well.
