brake pedal noise

I have 2000 EX with 130k. Lately when push brake pedal it sounds like pivot or linkage is dry. H as any one had to replace bushings in pedal assembly. My brakes have always felt spongy since I've had it. IF push pedal firmly to floor it doesn't feel solid like most vehicles. but this truck has never had hydraulics open since new. just the way it is .Does everybody else's Ex brakes feel spongy. I know theres a lot of post about brakes on these trucks. My truck will not lock the tires if panic stop. It is very heavy and I have 285's.

I have a funny feeling this is gonna end up related to the power adjustable pedal trucks only form some reason.

But my 03 limited V10 always had a squishy feel to the pedal too. Oh and I cant lock the brakes up when its dry to save my life. I stand all 260 lbs of myself on that brake and its not really different then just pushing on it with a normal firm leg. These brakes are just flat out weak. Amazing how bug they are and how weak they grab honestly. This is even with powerslot cryo's and LTX pads. Some guy in a mitsubishi almost ended up looking like this cause of them. LUckily he only had this expression on his face as I was trying to stop before hitting him.

I have had this problem and the way that I go rid of it was to replace my power booster (the big donut shaped piece behind the master cyclinder). It sounds like a short groan. The actuall piece that it is is the grommet for the penetration throught the firewall. The break pedel pushes the lever that presses the power booster (vacum boost) there is a white plastic shroud that the lever goes through and it has three round pieces of felt and foam that drys out and cracks. I have tried just lubing the pieces of felt (by disassembling the booster from the firewall) but the sound came back after about 5 - 6 months, thats why I just replaced the entire booster ($130.00)

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions . the booster sounds like most logical solution with my experience. yesterday I did not notice the noise that much but today it was very noticeable. It does sound a little like dry rubber sound. an maybe even a little vacuum leak..I'll check it out tomorrow. These trucks are very disappointing on the brake performance. I've wondered if adding steel braided brake lines in place of original rubber would help any. I figure someone has thats added a tall lift kit. When I put on 285-75-16 I noticed a big difference in brakes. Thats not that big of tire. The old drum brakes on pre superduty worked very well. Does the 05 trucks have better brakes I know thats when they change the front suspension and started putting on 18 inch wheels.
