There is nothing wrong with a guy trying to expand his knowledge base or take care of his family.

Agreed. Click on my user name and pick display post then go to the very first couple posts I had here. We all start somewhere. I don't know a thing about the 6.0 either other than I don't want to know anything about it!

Don't worry guys, I ain't goin' no where. Just figured I better get my feet wet incase Dad's truck takes a nose dive. I'm like you Tim, I really don't care to know about them, but in this case I need to. So knowledge is power.......

yea... and all you guys know i got a new truck and i love it it is still a 7.3 tho i kinda want a 6.blow... and i still have the obs truck to it is my work truck and i have my new one for a pleasure truck...

Really .. I honestly say they're not a terrible motor. Once you fix the couple of issues points the motor has ( head studs, EGR, EGR cooler, ect ... ) They rev and produce a lot of power. I was like RubberDuck back in 2004 bought a 2003 new left over Excursion and I was reading books, posts, and bug'n my friends at the dealership for months. After I found out all the issues, and I had the dreaded 03 motor, I thought oh crap what have I got into and the wife is gonna kill me. Now I'm not scared of it anymore.
