Thanks guys for the positive comments, It's hard to explain how the bed lid sits except for there is a drip rail that goes right around the bed, including the tail gate. there is no hinge on the front of the bed lid. Haven't put the gas struts on yet which will be postion about 3/4 away down on the lid. Also there will be a lock in the centre of the end of the bed lid. The guy who helps me in building the truck came up with this idea for the bed lid. I'll take some pictures of how the bed lifts for all you curious guys. It's got a clear cloat over it so no worries about bird crap. The colour is the same as the block letters and the front grille. I did think of getting a mural of yosimite sam holding a Aussie and a Texas flag, as my truck was built in Texas.
Cheers

from what you've described as a rain gutter beneath sounds like what I've been building in my head.

I like the way that sits and from what I have been told they make the Truck drive much better, better gas mileage and handling. I wanted to have a go at making one, but didn't think I could make once nice enough. So I have gone with a vinyl Tonneau cover. If I could make one as nice as you have made that one Paul I would be very happy.

It looks great... please don't put a mural on it though ;o)

If you could do some detailed shots of how you constructed it that would be cool.
