Sorry I havent posted in a while guys Iv been so swamped with work its been rediculous. Basically 6 days a week for 12 hours at a time for the last few weeks, but its paying off cuz of all the overtime pay I got so I can make a bigger down payment on a new truck. My girlfriend actually went to a dealership for me the other day to look at some trucks that she likes and to tell me what they had there. She said they had this one truck that was an 05 supercab 6.5 bed xlt 5.4 with 36,000 miles for 15. Its also got a leveling kit and 33s on it. Its got dark green paint with a camo strip going along the bottom. Im going to go to look at it when I get the time. Is there anything imparticular that I should look for? I know I need to see if its got the towing package and what gears it has, but is there anything else I should be on the lookout for?

Make the dealer show you an OASIS report for the truck you buy. It will detail every single time Ford has seen the vehicle and what was done
Carfax of course
1. just look at the undercarriage and suspension. look for extremely dirty and/or broken/loose parts.
2. during the test drive, go at least 60 mph for 5 minutes and try to find some railroad tracks or other really bumpy road
3. bounce on both ends and see if the shocks are good. truck should stop on the 2nd - 3rd rebound.
4. check every single electrical piece of gadget in/on the truck.
best of luck. I like that camo stuff, but I would never put it on a truck.

Here, you can buy this thing...
North Country Ford Lincoln Mercury in Minneapolis and St Paul Minnesota, the twin cities offering new and used Fords, a used Ford Dealer and a used Ford Dealership offer used Cars, used Trucks and used SUVs
Just have them fix the IWE, passenger side upper ball joint, rust on the driver side wheel well, ABS and have them do the spark plugs before you buy it
it's got 3.55s with an open differential - no speeding tickets for you...

1. the 5.4 will be more suited for you. especially as you tow and work construction
2. the MPG between the motors is almost identical. the 4.6 seems to get better highway only MPG though vs. the 5.4
3. 33x12.5 tires will not significantly affect MPG. the stock tires are 31.8" tall...the extra 1" will be very slight
4. Buy an Edge Evolution. or a Gryphon (Edge with custom tunes). 3 tunes and extra guages
5. the 5.4 has a beefier transmission, bigger rear axle.
Try to get a FX4. you get 3.73 gears with Limited Slip and 5.4 standard. There is also usually a tow package installed that has a 4 pin/7 pin and class IV hitch
