Got A Recall Notice From Ford This Week

Hello all,I received a recall notice from Ford's Customer Service Division in Michigan this week regarding the brake booster vacuum hose connection to the intake manifold. It's Recall notice 08S05. They say the vacuum hose connection at the manifold may swell and loose retension force. The notice goes on and says and I quote; "The time needed for this repair is less than one-half day. However, due to service scheduling requirements, your dealer may need your vehicle for a longer period of time." I looked at the hose in question and it looks to me like this would only be a 5 to 10 minute repair job at the most. I am going to contact my Ford Dealer this week and see if this recall had been completed on my truck or not. I had my truck serviced two weeks ago and the service manager told me at that time that all the recalls and bullitins were completed except for the one regarding recalibrating the gauge cluster, which they took care of that day. The problems not with the hose at the brake booster, It's where it connects under the intake manifold. Thats where the problem is. Getting to to that location looks to be quite difficult.

If thats the case then this means they will need to remove the intake manifold, which can be a pain alright. I will contact my local Ford dealership tomorrow and see if this needs to be done on my truck. If it does, I will then see if they have the part in question in stock. If not, then I will have them pre-order it and then schedule an appointment to get this taken care of. Thanks!Jim
