Would a leaky PCV valve cause an evap problem? I have noticed that my PCV valve is whistling and making some strange noises, and probably sucking air in. Would this cause a problem with my EVAP system? I think low vacume would.
I doubt it. Our 2000 F250 SD with a 5.4L here at work has buzzed/whistled for years and never thrown a code. If it was sucking too much air, you would get the dreaded P0171 and P0174 lean codes. I would go ahead and replace the PCV valve and check the hose elbows.
that's fine if its not, i assume i still have a problem with my evap, its a 1451, evap circuit malfunction... my edge evo reads out the text for the code as well. I also know my pcv valve is bad and will be replacing it shortly...
LX ya the 1451 is only a few months old, so it deff not related to the swap.
Speaking of the swap, my new updated edge is in the mail with my stock 5.4l tunes, after i get it i will be working with the company to get it dialed in for custom ones... WOOOT...
