My monitor took a dump.

Yesterday when I turned it on the light on the monitor was flickering, and it took a little longer than normal to show the screen. This morning it would not come on at all. All connections were tight.

I don't know anything about these things, other than the fact that that one doesn't work any longer.

No Monitor

That happened to mine 6 months ago. Had to breakdown and get another.

That's the only way I know how to fix the problem. The thing is warrantied for 3 years - guess I'll have to dig out the "original packaging" and the receipt and send it off to get it replaced or repaired.

Is it an LCD or are you still using a clunker CRT?

How is it that you are online now? New one?

These things do last awhile, but these things do need to be replaced once in a while too.

I got mines from Sam's Club a few years ago and it does the job.

Glad to see you up and running!

Back up plans are good.

I still have a CRT, until it takes a dump too.

They are getting cheaper and cheaper, and I don't think it's a coincidence that I'm seeing more of them fail within the first year.

If you turn the monitor off with the power switch, then turn it back on, do you see an image for a moment and then it goes black? If so, that's the back light failed. It's actually a tiny, about 3/16" diameter, flourescent lamp the same length as your monitor is wide. Just about every one I see fail has that problem.

Good luck with the warranty.

The power supply probably took a dump. Cheap china crap. It sounds like it is LG's problem now.

Well, bummer. If you don't even get a splash screen, well, bummer.

Those new wide screens are nice.

Yes, they are -

And you can get one for the price of two tanks of fuel.

Dang, that makes them sound expensive.

I tried one and it wasn't too good for graphics, and I spend a lot of my time in Autocad. But for general text and browsing, wowser it was nice.
