Question No start 1987 F150 EFI, AOD

Hello All.

How it began: I was exiting highway and truck started acting like it was running out of gas. I quickly switched tanks to no avail. It was still idleing very low and only as long as I was feathering the gas pedal. It died and I've only been able to get it started once since then, after replacing the fuel filter, and it only ran short time at low idle with me feathering the pedal again. No start since.
I also could get it to idle on starting fluid, until it backfired due to starting fluid overuse. Now it won't even attempt to start with or without starting fluid. Just cranks!

Here's what I've tried: I replaced the fuel filter, tried different relays, and replaced fuel pump that is located on the rail. I also cleaned battery terminals and wires real good. I've changed the map sensor, checked for spark(it's good), checked the inertia switch(It's good), pulled the EEC-IV out and visually inspected(appears ok).

I can hear pump in tank energize and can feel the pump on the frame rail energize. It's not loud like it used to be though. Used to hear it energize from in cab.
I DO NOT have pressure in the system though. I've used the relief valve after each start attempt and barely get any fuel to come out.
Thanks for any help as I am stumped.
Ken

pull the filter and see if you get fuel from the line?while cranking?may be a bad cross over switch?

Thx Junior. I have no fuel from fuel pump forward to fuel rail. I pulled the crossover switch and looked inside bowel where I found tiny metal shavings. I was cleaning the switch and noticed an o ring that looked like it wasn't seated and I was going to reseat. After I pulled it out apparently it was holding some sort of spring valve because it popped in and now I am really screwed. I'll need to get another switch now for sure. The switches that autozone.com has don't look the same. They look electronic. Mine is pressure activated, with a fuel reservoir at bottom. Can I bypass it and run on one tank only?

Check the pump relay on the driver side fender and check the wiring at the inertia switch on the firewall near the brake pedal. The wiring connector melted on the inertia switch on my 87 and caused an intermittent no-start situation, although I could not hear the pumps at all.
