Evening everyone. I found out yesterday that the CEO of Manitoba Hydro is stepping down and leaving the Corporation in September, finally!! That guy has been running the company into the ground and has hugely reduced shop moral. If the new CEO can drag this company out of the pit it's falling into, maybe things might not be so bad. Also, our supervisor took a supervisor job at a different station a little while ago so we are currently supervisorless . Only down side of that is from all the candidates I've heard of to replace him, I don't want any of them as my supervisors because the are all condescending people.
On another note, currently working 12 hour night shifts. Right now I am driving a 2013 Chevy 2500 crew cab, short box 4x4 with the 6.0 vortec for a work truck. Funny story, the road to work is almost all gravel with a couple paved stretches. Yesterday in this Chevy, I caught up to a slow moving personal vehicle on the gravel and figured I would be nice and wait till I hit the paved stretch to pass instead of shooting rocks at them on the gravel. So I get to the paved stretch and wanted to pass before it went back to gravel. I gave the truck a good amount of throttle, realized I wasn't catching the car fast enough so I went to push the throttle down farther, only to realize that my foot was already on the floor...
Hope all is well and everyone is staying healthy.
