Who`s truck is that Gerry? I would love to find one, if my 92 had been a regular cab I wouldn`t have sold it.

Is that an older picture Morris, if not that truck sure is in nice condition. I don't imagine they use salt on your roads out there.

This was after I repainted it John, it did have a bit of rust that I removed before painting it.
Yes, unfortunately a lot of salt is used here and worse yet potash by product too.

Winnipeg does not use salt but I sure do when I can. Salt is better than sand for me to use.

Potash is worse than salt Morris? I didn't know they used it on roads. We use a lot of it as a binder for our paste underground. Trucks are hauling it here steady.

I`ve been told and believe it from what I`ve seen that potash is a lot more corrosive than salt. Both are bad for vehicles but they help to reduce accidents on winter roads.

That was a beauty of a truck Mo. Have you talked to Glen lately? I miss my '96 F150 the most. It was a plain jane 300/6 2wd. A very simple truck that I enjoyed when life was simpler for me. It still going strong, well over 300k, probably heading to 400k or more by now. I see it every now and then and think about offering to buy it back from whoever owns it. I would have to get it cheap as it would require a lot of work to get it back to what I remember...

She's a cold one out there this am boys... I'm feeling a bit amphibious. Wallowing in some warm mud would be pleasurable.

Have a great Friday fellas...

One word... DEALER. Lol...Especially when it comes to this time of year, myself with no heated shop wouldn't even consider attempting to do something like this. In summer maybe. Best of luck to you though I admire your ambitions if you undertake it.

Repairing a vehicle in the cold prairie temps helps put hair on the chest.

I don't mind the ugly job's. It's the lying on my back doing them. I destroyed my body in the automotive / Heavy truck trades. I should have listened to the old timer's at the time, when they said "you'll pay for that when you're older" I certainly am. I'll crank the heat and tunes, and hopefully within 4 hrs I'll be done. My buddy has a project on his hoist, and Dawn has to go to the U.S for a hockey tourny in 2 weeks. No dealer for me. I worked at one for years, and only trust myself. I took the Edge in for it's final warranty check in the spring, and they wanted to sell me the usual complete change all fluids, spark plugs, rear pad's and one outer tie rod, for the sum of $1300.00. I just did the rear pads last weekend, and they still had 4/32's left. The tie rod is O.K. Flushed the fluids for less than $100.00. They wanted $400.00 for a tune up (change plug's). I'll do them after she gets back from Fargo. I'll need my buddies lift to get the 3 rear plugs. Take care guy's.

I can say with no hesitation that I neither want or need more hair on my chest... I'm kind of like the Canadian Club commercial... At this point you couldn't find my nipples with a weed wacker...

No repairs below -5 for me Good luck Grant!!

New vehicles are so much more of a pain in the a$$ to work on, with my old Dodge truck I was sitting on the fender with my feet in the engine bay while changing plugs on it. My Powerstroke will be a little cleaner under the hood when I finally get off my lazy butt to remove the EGR cooler and even cleaner when I have the money for a 2015 turbo kit and replacement intercooler and intake piping .

Because of people like my dad, being 53 and having such a bad back, I've started going to the chiropractor and getting massages any time I can while I'm in Winnipeg.

Be happy everyone, its Friday

Being that I am a professional, I should have a powerful enough weed wacker to aid in nipple location. Just have to ask!

I am lucky that all my truck repairs get completed at friends garage.
