Does anyone know the refrigerant capacity for a 1970 Ford F-100 AC?
I have the deeper underdash unit with controls in the dash. I think this is the factory installed unit.

 

You hava a "hang on" kit, there is no spec for the charge on this as the hose lenth can vary a lot, it sounds like a wise *** answer but fill it until it's full, a set of AC guages and feeling the lines for temp will tell a AC tech when it's full.

 

There should be a site glass on this system to allow you tell when the wystem is full. Add until the bubbles are gone.

 

Thank you for your responses. I have since been told on another air conditioner web site that the capacity is around 36 oz and this is a factory installed unit; Also charge until the bubbles disappear in the site glass. I replaced my damaged hose and installed a new receiver/dryer. I then evacuated the system, while charging I watched the site glass until the bubbles disappeared. The AC seems to be workng fine.
