How would I go about obtaining an 'oasis' report on a veh.? I am contemplating purchasing an '05 F-350 6.0 P.S. w/ 35,000 mi. With all the horror stories of the '03 to
06's, I am nervous. I learned the '05 had a re-design on the high pressure oil pump; was that improvement? This truck is at a Ford dealership. Suggestions on what I should look/ ask for? It seems that 4 out of 5 owner stories are nightmare on these model yr. 6.0's; the #5 story is 'best truck I've owned'. I'm asking for your guys expertise and advice!

You really need to post this as a newly started thread. This thread is intended to be used for folks that want my spreadsheets or to discuss what is in them and how they have helped.

Thae being said, the 2005 HPOP is pretty reliable. The STC fitting on the discharge of the pump (connects to the branch tube) is very UNRELIABLE. the later model years have this STC fitting also, but many of them have a support bracket installed (and some 2007's may have the improved one piece fitting. If you get a good enough deal, then you can afford a few thousand for a few repairs. They really are good trucks and good engines IMO! When things go wrong, they are expensive though.

For me, I would be more concerned about the truck having been heavily modded and driven hard in the past.

Start a new thread and title it something like "new purchase and OASIS help needed". You will get more responses. It is crucial to know when the truck was FIRST purchased!

Guys - your email is NOT listed in your profile. I can page through your profile and click on "send you an email", but the FTE system does not allow a 9MB file to be attached and sent.

You all need to "call up" my profile and send me a visitors message that contains your email address.

Thank you!
