V10 EX to 7.3 PSD Swap

I have a chance at buying a wrecked (Rollover) 1999 F250 with a fresh 7.3 Powerstroke with manual tranny in it. Is this a good donor to swap into my 2000 V10 Excursion. What else would I need?

If you want a diesel excursion, buy a diesel excursion. Its gonna be a nightmare swap in my opinion, you may as well swap the bodies, dunno the legalities on that though. What about emissions? If tehy test in your area that will leave the test lane guys scratching there heads for a LONG time! lol

I would post this in the 7.3 forum. Those guys prpbably have the answer. I went from an 05 v10 to an 03 7.3-love it.

The donor truck should have everything you need, wiring harness, computer, motor mounts, etc..

Thanks. Would a 2007 6.0 Automatic trans truck donor be an easier or harder swap into the Excursion? What about the fuel tank?

A 2007 6.0 probably wouldn't have any issues with emissions, but there you reach the problem. The 6.0s take up more room then the 7.3s in the form of emissions junk, and tons and tons of extra coolers and such. Plus, I'm not sure of a torqshift would bolt up into a 2000 excursion.

The 7.3 Automatic transmission should be relatively easy to bolt right in.
