51 flathead v8 carburater

will acarb. for car flathead v8 work on truck engine the reason i ask is i have a chance to buy a new carb.from aparts house ,he says the only difference is the air cleaner anyone have any info on this would be much appricated thanks clyde by the way they are 1951 flathead v8 239.....

I know I was able to run a car carb on my 226 flathead 6, I only had it on a few weeks before I could rebuild the original carb. I have had both for a V8 and the only difference I noticed was the air horn, like your guy said, you won't be able to use the truck air cleaner.

4tl8ford is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
The car carb also doesn't have the hand throttle linkage.
