I aint no Minion either..... I'm just the crazy guy lurking in the shadows.

anyways... I'm Adam, 24, from Iowa.

I went to college for CNC machining, and now work in a fab shop programming cnc machines and designing parts and processes. <-engineering

My truck is a 97 f150... nothing special really, I'm not much of a mechanic, but I can take something apart and put it back together if I have to.

I'm Lee, lived in ND my entire life...hence the Frozen F-Series title, but it was in the 90's here the other day. Got to love the extremes of the seasons!

I have a degree in diesel technology, and have bounced aroung various jobs in the last 6 years wrenching. From an internship at a local mine working on some BIG equipment, to semi-truck/trailer shops, and a construction equipment dealership. I always seems that I'm moving from job to job chasing the almighty dollar.

I just turned the big 3-0 on the 4th .

I have a 79 F250 that I've had for the past 7 years that I took from a bone stock, 38000original mile Maytag man lookin truck to it's current state of modification.....with no end in sight .

I also have a 2005 F250 Lariat PSD that's pretty much stock for now, but soon will get a leveling kit in the front, F350 blocks in the back and some larger shoes.

The newer truck spends most weekends hauling my camper, the ATV, me, the wife and dog to various lakes and rivers in the area to do some fishing/drinking with friends and family. It's older brother spends time tearing up the landscape !

Yeah I never figured out the minion thing either. I've been here a long time, then disappeared for a while, came back, and there were Minions......

Anyways...I'm Grant, 25, from South Dakota. I'm a farmer, own a hunting lodge, and I wrench on crap on a daily basis.

I know most of the guys in here are Mechanical Engrs, but have you looked into Civil Engineering Its close but different and a lot of your classes will apply for both. Just an idea...

Mechanical = Build Bombs and Civil = Build Targets

Woo... I was waiting for somebody to say it....

Mechanical engineering = I get to work with metal (or whatever) and be a bad arse fabricator.

Civil engineering = I get to tell you where that wall is going to go.
(Sorry civil engineers, I know it's way more involved than that, but i'd rather do my job anyday)

Whatever your cup of tea is...

I'm just saying school is not cheap and if you are already knee deep in math and science. The Civil program is along the same lines as Mechanical.

I like working with metal and fabbing things up.... but just as a hobby, and I wish I had all those cool machines for myself.

Some generalizations:
-Mechanical has to stay near a big city with industry - every little town needs a Civil to tell them where the wall goes or pipe or road.
-Mechanical can be farmed out to a foreign country - rarely does some foreign company design the new road on the edge of town.
-In Civil you get to play in the dirt.
