whitie's is starting off with a positive reputation.
what to do??????

ok I just bought A 1955 with a very, very low mile 352 in it. now the guy that I bought it of of was taking the stock intake off to replace it with an alluminium one. Now when he was doing so did not notice there was a peach pit...yes a peach pit, on the intake. And as he was pulling it off he watched the peach pit fall down the distributor hole. Now I have pulled the timing cover, the pan and rotated the engine by hand several times, and can't find it anywhere??

So my question is what else should i do? would it really hurt anything if I just put it back together and run it? I don't want to pull the engine and tear it down.

Please any suggestions is much appreciated.

Hypoid is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Now there's one I never heard before. LMAO!

If you don't see it down the hole, or in the oil pan, it's time to look under the inake and valley pan. The up-side is that you have the aluminimum intake.

This would bother me. A set of gaskets and a day of cussing is a pretty good trade-off for never having to worry about it.

I think Hypoid hit it right on the head already, but maybe it laying on top of the oil pump?

Peach pit - man, that guy has got to remember not to spit them out whereever he is at the moment

the intake is off so it is not in the valley... not on the top of the oil pump......so??? would it not just get crushed if anything? I could just keep check/changing the oil to monitor it. what would you do?

Maybe not believe the guy? I don't know... There's really no where for it to go besides what's already been listed.

Did you check under the valley pan?

How long did the engine run after the pit dropped in? Did he start it up or just bail on the project?
