hello more code questions for 97 f250hs 5.8

i was getting a saved code of 172 and since have pretty much taken care of the exhaust leak i had. the error code now only comes up in the cm part of code so basically does that mean its no longer a factor? i think i just realized it doesnt because it wouldnt register with the koeo test. so ill reset computer. since there was a leak before will the computer of altered its performance to cope with it. Im getting too optomistic i think ps oh yea is the lean left side the drivers side manifold or the passengers not sure where the view point is

Is your truck mass air or Speed density?

At the moment I'd be more concern with this code,

622 KOEO Shift solenoid #2 circuit failure

172 is a EGR fault of some kind depending on what system you have will determine course of action. Yes it should be corrected too and should prove easy to correct but that tranny code would bother me.

You really didn't need to start a new thread, we'd see your posts continued on the first one. For future reference, no big deal.

Sorry that's 327

DPFE or EVP circuit below minimum voltage of 0.2 volts.

Fixing this would likely make 172 disapear.

Code "327" make me think you have MAF system? If so check the DPFE small hoses and make sure they are clear.

Ok your truck shouldn't have a DPFE, has a EVP. Read over that to fast so it threw me a little.

Give me a minute and I'll post the EVP circuit test.

alright thanks the plug reading was 5.2 so very good and then i got mixed up and somehow thought i had to start the truck and read the ohms on the same plug. so figd out where i went wrong and walked all the way back to my truck (not alowed to park in the condo complex) and got reading of 100 ohms which is good and then where it should be about 5000 got 3300 so i think this means the problem is with the epv unit and ill buy a new one when i get money again probably monday. thanks alot

new codes

swapped the epv and now the check engine light wont come on at idle; like before it would after 40 sec. or so. after driving around the light came back on so ran the codes again. koeo only shows 622 now and the saved codes were 332 334 337. so now it says the egr isnt opening and the other two codes say the evp circuit is getting too much voltage. could the egr not opening create the other two codes?

You have to clear all the codes and then drive to see what re-appears, this is the only way to know what you have and have not fixed.

ok the two high voltage codes are gone and all that is left is the 332 and the 622. made decent progress today and checked each individual wire in the thick harness at the tranny(looked like an oil pipe rather than wire harness). found 2 nicked wires and i cleaned them and respliced them and made them water tight. code was still there though. so i decide to at least fix the exhaust better than before and long story short i dropped a bolt down the pass side exhaust and spent my 4th of july screaming obscenites as i unhooked whole exhaust in effort to twist and vibrate it out.did not work and i no what your all thinkin; ******* shoulda just used a magnet and dragged it out; doesnt work think it has to be on a non magnetic surface for that trick. oh yea long story short my exhaust is hanging by straps till the morn. i did spray some cleaner in the bottom of the egr and it moved up and down very easy with a flat head. and i checked green vaccuum line blew through it and seemed clear. im thinking the problem with 322 is the egr valve regulator (the thing with 2 hoses green and white not sure about acronym but dont care right now) alright thanks for reading this epic novel and happy 4th. thanks for the help

That would be the EVR (exhaust valve regulator), it controls the open and closing of the EGR valve.

More to follow.....
